The Warrior Project is an anxiety management and social skill program developed by The Little Black Duck. It is unique compared to other programs as it looks at the individual as a whole and puts social skill development secondary to anxiety management and sensory development.
Many social programs only focus primarily on learning social skills, or don’t put a lot of focus on managing sensory needs and anxiety. This should really be inverted, with a higher focus placed on managing anxiety and sensory needs.
The Warrior Project places social skills secondary to anxiety management and sensory regulation. It also does not rely on the participant to understand what anxiety actually is. This allows the participant to start managing their anxiety immediately rather than waiting for them to develop an understanding of how anxiety affects them.
